The Beauty of Survival

Mia’s Fine Art presents, "The Beauty of Survival" —an original Oil & Cold Wax Medium in 9 x 12 in., framed. As I was painting this piece I found myself reflecting on past harms/hurt. As a victim of rape, the wounds run deep. Six flowers, why that must be a mistake! Typically I would choose to paint an odd number of flowers, but for this piece, I stopped at six. The number six has many meanings. It can represent imperfection. It can represent love. I reckon I chose six blooms to signify my acceptance of my imperfections and the self love I have needed to heal. Darkness reveals light and life. You can feel it in this painting. It draws you in and allows you the strength to not only heal but to survive and move forward with love. Always with love.
